How ScanMyLove Works: A Guided Tour of the Tool

Do you keep rereading a conversation without being able to explain what bothers you? ScanMyLove helps you review written exchanges using files you choose to provide. This article introduces our own service; it is not an independent review. It explains the journey and its limits before you share personal messages or choose a paid report.

In this article, I explore the topic “How ScanMyLove Works: A Guided Tour of the Tool”. I also offer ScanMyLove, a tool that analyses couple conversations from an export to help you better understand your exchanges. I also wrote Understanding Your Attachment Style, if you would like to explore further.

Start with the ScanMyLove English homepage. The tool does not connect to your partner's account. It works with the material you supply, so it cannot know what happened in missing conversations or identify intentions that the text does not establish.

Using a text message analyzer for a dating-app conversation

If you met on a dating app, start with a specific exchange rather than asking for a score of someone’s feelings. Did a question receive an answer? Was a plan confirmed? What happened after one person said no? A short conversation may leave most of those questions unanswered.

Fictional example: “Would you like to meet on Saturday?” followed by “You look amazing” contains a compliment but no answer about Saturday. A later “Yes, after three works” changes that observation. An automated review needs that later context; it cannot supply missing messages or know why someone delayed replying.

ScanMyLove does not sign in to a dating account or retrieve a match’s private messages. Check the current upload interface for supported files. A legible screenshot and a supported text export are different inputs, with different preparation and processing steps described below. Do not assume every dating app provides a compatible export, and avoid sharing intimate material that is unnecessary for your question.

For a concern about intense affection followed by silence, see love bombing over text: signs, counterexamples and boundaries. That article examines the situation; this guide explains how the tool works and what it cannot conclude.

1. Choose a useful question and time period

“Do they love me?” is an understandable question, but messages alone cannot answer it with certainty. “What happens when I ask us to make a plan?” is more useful for examining specific exchanges. Include enough conversation before and after the incident to understand how it unfolded.

Avoid selecting only the most hurtful sentences. A later clarification or attempt to repair the disagreement may change the interpretation. Equally, adding years of unrelated messages does not automatically improve the analysis. Choose sufficient context and remove sensitive documents or information that do not help answer your question.

It also helps to write down the answer you are hoping to receive. If you want the tool to prove someone wrong, you may be more likely to accept passages that agree with you. Treat the analysis as material to examine, rather than a verdict you have been waiting for.

2. Prepare the files

The upload interface accepts several types of files, including text exports, supported JSON exports, ZIP archives, screenshots and some screen-recording formats. Check the formats shown on the current upload page. An accepted extension does not mean that every export structure from every messaging app is supported.

For WhatsApp, exporting without media can help avoid sending a large archive of unrelated photographs. For screenshots, check that the words are legible, speakers can be distinguished and the sequence makes sense. The service concerns written dialogue; do not assume that voice messages or tone of voice are analysed.

When you are ready, open the upload page. Use conversations you can legitimately access. Do not obtain access to somebody else's account to collect material for the analysis.

3. Understand the steps before payment

The journey depends on your file type. Text exports and screenshots do not necessarily follow the same processing steps. Character recognition for images or screen recordings may happen after payment. A free dashboard containing all recognised text is therefore not something we promise for every upload.

Read the explanation of the processing that will take place. Whenever the interface displays messages, participant information, dates or a message count, compare them with your original file. A missing section or incorrectly identified speaker can affect the interpretation. If the input looks wrong, improve it or seek help before relying on the findings.

4. Compare what each offer includes

The English pricing page shows the available options. Check the report contents, whether a PDF or follow-up chat is included, and the amount and currency displayed before confirming payment. An old screenshot or a price seen in another country is not a reliable description of your current purchase.

A more detailed report cannot make another person's intentions certain. Choose according to the question you want to explore and the contents actually advertised. If keeping an offline document matters to you, check the download options of the selected plan rather than assuming they match another offer. Review the payment methods shown in your own checkout as well.

5. Separate observations from interpretations

A report can organise observations about communication and suggest points for reflection. Return to the quoted messages to examine the basis for a conclusion. A delay in replying may be visible, but its cause may not be. Work, tiredness and agreements made in person can be missing from the record.

Fictional illustration: one person writes, “Can we choose a date today?” and the other replies, “You always put pressure on me.” The request has not received a direct answer. These two lines alone do not establish a disorder or prove a deliberate attempt to manipulate. Check whether a date is proposed later and whether the pattern appears in other situations.

Look for exchanges that challenge your first impression too. If an explanation does not fit your experience, you can set it aside. A report is not an authority for forcing a label on your partner. A practical use would be preparing a specific request: “If now is not a good time, when can we talk about this?”

For more detail on reading the findings, see the relational dimensions of a report and the guide to the global relationship score. These explain how to approach the report’s categories without treating them as a final judgement on your relationship.

6. Check how your data is handled

Reading a file in your browser does not mean that the whole service runs only on your device. Some operations, including the handling of certain archives, use a server. AI analysis also involves processing text outside your device.

Before uploading, read the privacy information linked from the website for the applicable processing, providers and retention periods. This article does not promise universal immediate deletion or an absence of all transmission. Also consider your own device: browsing history, downloaded files and report access links may be visible if you share it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

The time depends on the files and processing required. Follow the indications in the service. A text import and the recognition of screenshots do not justify the same promise of speed.

Can the report prove cheating or diagnose a condition?

No. It is not proof of infidelity, a medical diagnosis or a certain prediction of a relationship's future. It does not replace therapy. If you face threats or violence, do not make receiving a report a requirement for seeking appropriate support.

What should I do afterwards?

Choose one useful observation and one specific question to explore. If you want to reflect on your own communication, the couple communication test offers a different starting point. For a longer read on this subject, see Saving Your Relationship: Communication, Crises, and Renewal. These are complementary resources, not automatic confirmation of a message analysis.
